Autism EPIC Owner Lillie Connor
Lillie Connor – integrated autism therapist, and the founder of Autism EPIC with over 30 years practical experianc working with children on the Autistic spectrum.
Through a variety of teaching methods, which include intensive interactoin, joint attention and play I incorporate and work on speech and language skills, managing emotions and behaviour, through intensive interaction, modeling and play.
I was employed by Bradford Education Learning Support Services with the Autism Support Team, led by Carol Shiret, for 11 years before I started Autism EPIC.
For five years I led SCIP the Social Communication Interaction Play scheme delivering intensive weekly integrated sessions to pre-school children, as well as delivering training on the approach to parents and professionals. SCIP was part of Bradford Education Learning Support Services’ Autism Team.
I am accredited to use and teach Picture Exchange Communication PECS and have also been approved, trained and accredited to run the National Autistic Society’s EarlyBird and EarlyBird Plus courses. To be suitable for accreditation and training to deliver the courses, professionals require a proven knowledge and track record in working directly with children on the autistic spectrum.
I have run the EarlyBird courses locally, employed by Airedale NHS Speech and Language, for the past ten years and recently with Bradford Autism Support BAS. I am experienced to cover all areas of challenge potentially faced by children on the autistic spectrum including language, social, sensory, behavioural, and emotional difficulties.
